Cycling Vietnam From Hanoi to Saigon

Cycling Tour from Hanoi – Saigon – Mekong Delta 14days Day 01 : Arrival inHanoi. (  D ) Meeting with our representative and transfer to your hotel in city centre. Rest of day is at leisure. Dinnet at the restaurant.  Overnight in Hanoi. Day 02 : Hanoi city tour 30km  ( B,L,D ) AM : breakfast at hotel. Hanoi city tour by bike: the main boulevards of Hanoi, Temple of Literature, DongXuan market, the Old Quarter and HoanKiem Lake. Visit to HoChiMinh Mausoleum and the One pillar pagoda. Day 03 : Hanoi & Pagoda a round - KimBoi -  HoaBinh 60km ( B,L,D ) Full day visit by bicycle to the ancient Thay and TayPhuong pagoda (built in 8th century) in the northern countryside. Cycling about 30km of the route. Continue to XuanMai town. Biking on Hochiminh road to KimBoi. Transfer to V Resort in HoaBinh for relax. V-Resort – Natural Farmland and Hot Spring is located in an unspoiled valley in Kim Boi, Hoa Binh. Day 04 KimBoi – Hanoi Capial 40 km [B,L] Am : Relax at resort. Day 07 : Visit Hue by Bike ( B,L,D ) Arrival in Hue in the morning. Meeting and transfer to your hotel in city centre.  Bike to Thien Mu Pagoda along the Perfume river. Hue sightseeing by bike includes the Imperial Citadel, Bike ride to visit the Mausoleums of TuDuc and KhaiDinh. (cycling 30km). Free time  DongBa market and TruongTien bridge  .Overnight in Hue. Day 08: Hue - Hoian ( B,L,D ) Am : breakfast at the hotel. Morning bicycle ride to HoiAn ancient town (130 km) via HaiVan pass( 500m high). This ride has some sharp and short hills. Cycling about  80km of the route on the way to Lang co beach. Overnight in Hoi An. Day 09 : Visit  Hoian  Town and  Beach  by bikes 20km ( B,L,D ) Walking tour of the old streets of HoiAn where the mix of Japanese and Chinese architecture reflects its past history as an important trading port. Afternoon cycling to CuaDai beach (5km). Overnight in HoiAn. Day 10 : Hoian - Danang -Hochiminh ( B,L,D ) Flight Breakfast at the hotel.Am : Transfer to airport for flight to HoChiMinh city. Arrival in HoChiMinh city and check-in at hotel. City tour by bus to main boulevards of Old Saigon, Notre Dame Cathedral, the splendid Post Office, the bustling BenThanh market, ChoLon China town and ThienHau pagoda.. Diner on boat cruise. Day 2 : Hanoi - Halong bay
There will be a city tour this morning. The tour will take us to visit HoChiMinh mausoleum, Presidential Palace, One pillar pagoda and Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first National University. We enjoy lunch in Hanoi before our drive journey to Halong in the afternoon. Visit to famous Dong Trieu ceramic village. Arrive to Halong city. Diner and overnight in Halong city.

 Day 3 : Halong bay cruise - Hanoi
Halong is breathtaking secluded bay with more than 3 thousand limestone islands created by pounding waves and wind. Boating amongst these sheer limestone backdrops is a lovely experience you 've ever had. After breakfast we transfer to the port for a 5 hour cruise around stunning Halong bay. Visit to limestone caves and white sandy beaches. While on boat we are treated to a fresh somptuous seafood lunch. There will be opportunity to take great photos or have jump off the boat. Visit more fish farms and floating villages before our drive back to Hanoi.

Day 4 : Hanoi - Hue
Enjoy the beauty of lovely Hanoi today. Where it be a stroll about the old quarter or a call to Hanoi's many fine gallaries,Hanoi has it all. This evening there will be a transfer to station for your overnight soft sleeper train to Hue. The train leaves at 7p.m

 Day 5 : Arrival Hue
Arriving to Hue is scheduled at 7am, you will be greeted and transferred to our hotel. After a freshen-up and breakfast we embark on a visit to Hue Citadel which contains great enclosure and forbidden purple city - a replica of Imperial City in Beijing. We continue our excursion to Thien Mu pagoda, overlooking Perfume river. A visit to splendid Tuduc royal tomb will complet our trip to Hue. Tonight we will enjoy Hue traditional specialties. Diner and overnight in Hue.

 Day 6 : Hue - Hoian
Morning boat trip to explore lovely Perfume river. Visit to Minh Mang royal tomb. We then continue our way to Hoian with ample stops en route at Langco beach for photo and refreshement. We continue our way over spectacular Haivan pass for a bird's eye view to Danang city and the ocean. We visit famous Cham museum in Danang and crafting village before reaching Hoian. Arrive to Hoian, check into our hotel. Diner and overnight in Hoian.

 Day 7 : Hoian
Whole day to explore charming little township of Hoian including old quarter, Japanese bridge and Thubon river. Walking amongst old streets and lane to visit old houses dating back to 300 year ago. There are many things to see and do in Hanoi, one thing we can be sure you never feel bored while being in this lovely town.

 Day 8 : Hoian - Flight to Nhatrang
Transfer from Hoian to Danang airport for flight to NhaTrang. Arrival transfer to our hotel in Nhatrang. Balance of the day will be at leisure to walk along famous Nhatrang beaches. Diner at local restaurant. Overnight in Nhatrang.

 Day 9 : Nhatrang
At 8:00am you will be pick up from our hotel in Nhatrang for a lovely boat cruise to visit fishing villages and offshore islands. There will opportunity to go for swimming, snorkerling to explore coral reefs of beautiful Mun island which is claimed to be amongst most beautiful area in the world. Lunch at local restaurant in the island. Overnight in Nhatrang

 Day 10 : Nhatrang - Dalat
After breakfast, we head out on a wild road to Dalat - visit Pokrongarai Cham Tower and enjoy the splendid view of NgoanMuc Pass. Visit Chicken village of C'ho minority people. Visit Prenn Water Fall, TuyenLam Pagoda and Dalat flower market. Diner and overnight in Dalat.

 Day 11 : Dalat - Saigon
After breakfast we visit Bao Dai palace, Crazy house and then contiue our way to Saigon. Visit Dambri water fall and LaNga floating village en route. Arrive Saigon

in late afternoon after a lovely journey through evergreen vegetation of coffees, mulbery, rubber plantation. Diner and overnight in Saigon.

Day 12 : Mekong Delta
Mekong Delta is southern most of Vietnam, this morning we drive through the Delta region to Caibe floating market. Boat trip to explore endless waterway and the market is fascinating experience. We visit bonsai and fruit garden. Lunch - Delta style is served in lush garden. Afternoon drive back to Saigon.

Day 13 : Saigon City tour - Cuchi Tunnels
AM: Visit Reunification Palace, and War Crime Museum. Visit China town and Thien Hau temple. Lunch served at local restaurant

PM: Drive to visit intriguing network of underground Cuchi - a system of more than 250 km long dug by guerrilla in the war. There are several function room - hospital, meeting room, store room ... A visit to Cuchi tunnels will get insight into history of Vietnamese people. Tonight there will be a farewell diner . Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

What to Take :
You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage; therefore it is in your own interest to pack as lightly as possible. We suggest a main backpack with a reasonable daypack for the treks and day tours. We also recommend strong walking shoes/boots and sandals or sports shoes for walking on beach and daily use.

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Day 2: Hanoi city tour

After breakfast in the hotel you will take an interesting guided city tour of Hanoi including Ho Chi Minh complex (the mausoleum, the house & garden and the museum) and One Pillar Pagoda, a unique ancient architecture. After here we move to Temple of Literature, the site of Vietnam’s first university, dates back to 1070. Its peaceful gardens and pavilions offer a relaxing respite from Hanoi’s busy streets. Lunch in local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we enjoy a relaxing cyclo tour in the ancient part of Hanoi. Walking down some small and lively street to see busy local market then join locals for green tea or coffee in local café. Free time for shopping. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Leave Hanoi for Halong Bay at 8.30am.
On the way we will have a short break for refreshment at a handicraft centre. Upon arrival in Halong City we board a wooden boat for a fine seafood lunch and a short cruise to Thien Cung Cave. After exploration of the cave we board the junk again for a great cruise through an amazing area of limestone islets. We will pass a floating village to reach our overnight spot near Luon Cave, which is a tunnel thrusting through a mountain. Dinner and overnight on the junk.

Day 4: Kayaking Halong Bay

After breakfast we start paddling to Van Chai Floating village and then continue paddling to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, we explore this amazing cave by kayak. The cave is a 200m long, dark tunnel thrusting through a limestone mountain. The tunnel is the only entry to a secluded and beautiful lagoon. Lunch on support boat in front of the cave. After lunch we paddle to Ba Trai Dao Lagoon, along a stunning and fairly rough sea channel, to explore its beautiful beaches. Continue paddling to Lan Ha Bay, which is smaller than Halong bay but much more interesting with lots of secluded beaches. Cruise back to Halong Bay for dinner and overnight on motherboat

Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Breakfast on the junk and enjoy the sundeck of the junk while she navigates amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay to get back to Halong City. Lunch on the junk before reach Halong Harbor for a drive back to Hanoi. On the way back to Hanoi we will have a stop in Dong Trieu Town for refreshment and visiting to a ceramic factory. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Hanoi – Hue

Take early flight to Hue City, the former capital of Vietnam in 17th, 18th century. Hue has been recognized a World Heritage Site by UNESCO thanks to its outstanding cultural and historical values. Upon arrival we transfer to our hotel in Hue. After check-in we take a short drive to the Imperial City to visit the impressive Royal Palace and other beautiful royal buildings.

Lunch in local restaurant with local delights. After lunch we embark on a relaxing biking tour to the rural area of Hue, passing scenic villages and green rice fields to reach Emperor Minh Mang Tomb, one of the most beautiful Emperor’s tombs in Hue. The tomb is particularly impressive being extravagant complex of pavilions, temple, courtyards, and lakes. After visiting to the Emperor’s tomb we will take a boat trip on the peaceful Perfume River to get back to Hue City. Overnight in Hue.

Upon arrival in Hoian Town we check in hotel and have lunch in local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will take an interesting guided walking tour to see the ancient town of Hoian. We will visit to ancient houses, old Chinese communal houses and the lively market of Hoian. Overnight in Hoian.

Day 8: Hoi An

Breakfast in hotel. Today is your free day to do whatever you want. There are some options for you to choose; shopping in the town – Hoi An is the paradise for those who like shopping, going to the beautiful beach of Cua Dai which is only 5 km from the town, take a short guided biking tour to the beautiful surrounding villages – this is included in the tour. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An – Da Nang – Saigon

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Da Nang for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Upon arrival in Tan Son Nhat Airport we transfer to our hotel downtown Saigon. The busy city of Saigon, used to be the capital of South Vietnam, is the biggest commercial and cultural centre of Vietnam. We will have lunch in a local restaurant before taking an interesting city tour of Saigon including the Unification Palace, the Post Office, the Jade Emperor Pagoda and Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 10: Saigon – Vinh Long – Can Tho

Breakfast in hotel before leaving Saigon for an exciting day tour in Mekong Delta. After two hour driving we will reach Vinh Long. From here we take a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to reach a peaceful island on the river. On the island, we will walk through fruit orchards and visit to local family. We will try many different kinds of tropical fruit cultivated on the island, and we will be entertained with songs and music performed by villagers. After here we take a rowed boat trip on small canals, which are shaded by water coconut trees. We visit to a coconut candy factory and have lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch we travel further south to Can Tho City. On the way we will cross a branch of Mekong River on public ferry. Overnight in Can Tho.

Get up early in the morning and take a boat trip on Mekong River to see one of the most lively and colorful floating market in Southeast Asia. The best time to see the market is around 8 am. Taking boat trip back to Can Tho for breakfast. Leave Can Tho for Saigon with a stop on the way for lunch. We will reach Saigon early afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.
